Super Easy Simple Syrup

Super Easy Simple Syrup

Basic Simple Syrup

Tell me if this has ever happened to you.

You pour yourself a glass of iced tea or make an iced coffee. You take a sip & suddenly realize you forgot to add sugar while the water was hot. You try to remedy the situation by adding a spoon of sugar and stirring it like a madman but it never dissolves completely. Every sip you take is either unsatisfactorily bitter or you get a mouthful of what feels like sand. What you had hoped to put a smile on your face has just made you grumpy and your whole day is ruined.

Super Easy Simple Syrup

Well, maybe your whole day isn’t ruined but it would have been a lot better if you had a perfectly sweetened and smooth beverage.

The best way we have found to sweeten a cold beverage is with simple syrup.

I love those bottles of flavored syrup. They are great for adding to your coffee or tea or protein shakes. The only problem is they are so expensive. However, making your own simple syrup is much cheaper, and as the name claims, very simple. If you can boil water, you can make simple syrup.

Feel free to tweak the measurements a bit to arrive at the sweetness you prefer.

This is just the very basic simple syrup. You can add other flavors and we will explore a couple of options in future posts but, for now, we want to share our favorite basic simple syrup recipe.
